The children have started the Jolly Phonics programme. We now know the first 4 sounds - s,a,t and i. In junior infants we don't make much reference to the name of the letters, instead we call the letters by their sound. This helps us when we start to blend the letters to read the words. There is a really good app called Jolly Phonics Lessons which is great for revising sounds at home.
